Lil Nas X Responds To People Who Say His Success Is Attributed To His Sexual Orientation

Lil Nas X has been in the headlines a lot lately, and that may not change anytime soon.

On Tuesday, the rapper took to social media to address those who have said that his success is based on his sexuality. He took to Twitter and wrote, “y’all love saying I’m being gay for success but can’t name 5 successful gay male artists in the last 10 years to save your life.”

A commenter replied to him and said, “God you’re so sad how do you not even realize you’re dissin’ all the gay artists that came before your a**?” He then replied and said, “I’m not dissing anyone. I’m acknowledging the fact that we aren’t usually as successful as our peers. What’s not clicking starbucks spellman”

Another person followed up and said, “I just wouldn’t say you’re being Gay for success…BUT you’re using being Gay you’re entire identity and artistry, it’s tired.”

Lil Nas X replied, “It’s a million ni**as in the industry that make nothing but songs about women and y’all don’t complain but i make my first song about a ni**a and now it’s my entire artistry. y’all crack me up man.”

If you recall, his latest song, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” has been quite controversial. After reaching the number one spot on the global Spotify chart, it appears that the song was removed.

Last week, he responded to a fan who said they were having issues with streaming the song on Spotify. Nas, who was aware of the issue, responded by tweeting, “It’s happening on all the streaming services,” with the sad face emoji.

Columbia Records released a statement about the song. “Thanks for all your comments regarding @LilNasX “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” It’s unfortunately out of our control, but we are doing everything possible to keep the song up on streaming services. We will keep you up to date as we hear more. Thank you for understanding.”

As you also know, a judge halted the production of his “Satan Shoes” after Nike filed suit against the company producing them.
