Lil Uzi Vert Credits Lil B The Based God For Starting The Diamond Implant Trend

The saga continued yesterday about who started the diamond implant trend. Lil Uzi Vert seemingly responded to Sauce Walka after he claimed Uzi was following him in an Instagram post after Uzi implanting a reportedly $24 Million pink diamond into the middle of his forehead. Uzi went to Twitter, where he shared a photo of Bay Area rapper Lil B The Based God with a diamond implanted in his face from 2012, shutting down Sauce’s claims that he started the trend. Lil B caught wind of Uzi’s tweet and responded, “FAMILY XOXXOXO – Lil B.” The photo came from Lil B’s 2012 music video for his song, “Tiny Pants Bi**h.” In the video, Lil B has a diamond bindi.

Many fans commented under the thread recognizing Lil B for being ahead of his time. One commented, “They might have forgotten who started all this swag s**t. Ni**as used to clown him now 80% of the rappers doing what Lil B been done.” Another commented, “OMG BASED GOD YOU STARTED ALL THE TRENDS !! Love YOU Stay Blessed.” Now, if you’re unfamiliar with who Lil B is, he was a member of the once-popular rap group, “The Pack,” which had a big hit song “Vans” in 2007 during the Hyphy Movement.

He is also known for putting the Based God curse on NBA baller Kevin Durant in 2011. Kevin tweeted, “I tried to listen to Lil B, and my mind wouldn’t let me do it….can’t believe this guy is relevant.”

Lil B challenged Kevin to a game of one-on-one. Kevin seemed to entertain the idea for a bit before ultimately ignoring Lil B. In May 2011, Lil B made the infamous curse tweet, “KEVIN DURANT WILL NEVER WIN THE TITLE AFTER HE SAID, “LIL B” IS A WACK RAPPER. “THE BASEDGODS CURSE” #THEBASEDGODSCURSE ON DURANT.”

Many believe the Based God curse had something to do with Kevin not winning the Larry O’Brien trophy in 2012. James Harden even came victim to the Based God curse in 2015 after Lil B claims he stole his dance. The curse may have been to blame when James’ former team, the Houston Rockets, lost in the Western Conference finals.

While some Roommates loved to see Lil B receive his flowers, others felt that it wasn’t worth discussing who started the trend.
