Sofia Shares Moment She & Hubby Learned About Their Baby

Sofia told the outlet that she found out she was pregnant at four weeks while abroad.

“I was on a trip to Milan for Fashion Week, and I was going to the Prada show. I was doing a really quick 24-hour turnaround, and I felt terrible but didn’t think much of it. I thought it was jet lag.”

Nope, not jet lag! It turned out that the model and internet personality was baking a bun in her oven. By the time she got back home in Los Angeles, she decided to take a pregnancy test. Richie had been planning for a “boozy” concert night with hubs and friends.

However, with thoughts of a baby on board, Sofia took the test “to be generally safe.” For context, Sofia revealed that she and the record executive had been “casually” trying to have a baby since getting married in April 2023. So, when she told him she was taking a test, he “didn’t really flinch.”

After taking tests for months, she easily peeped the “faintest of lines” on the “crappy at-home” test. She immediately rang her husband and had him pick up three more tests. He was “excited,” Sofia said.

“We spoke the whole way on the phone. And when he came home, he’s such a sweet guy he always wants to protect my emotions and expectations, so he kind of sat me down and said, ‘If these are negative, don’t be upset. Our moment will come.’ When we turned over all three tests at the same time they were all positive. He was so excited, and we both cried. It was crazy and overwhelming and so hard not to scream it from the rooftops.”

How Sofia And Her Husband Told Their Parents They’re Expecting

Despite their excitement, Sofia says she immediately became “protective” over her baby. Until the eight-week mark, she kept the news between herself, Elliot, and their parents.

Speaking of, the luxury brand ambassador says she’s shared the news with the grandparents by placing her positive pregnancy tests in a Herms box under the guise of a “gift.”

“That’s how we told all of our parents. Watching their reaction go from like, ‘I’m about to get an expensive present’ to like ‘I’m about to get a grandchild’ was really sweet..,” she told Vogue.

The expectant mom is about halfway through her pregnancy and feels more comfortable revealing her life update.

Sofia is now in the baby shower and baby moon planning stages. She revealed her daughter is expected to arrive in Gemini season, which is sometime between May 21 and June 20.

Congratulations Sofia!
