It seems like Lisa Bonet is looking to make her split from Jason Momoa official. According to TMZ, the actress recentlyfiled for divorce and spilled a lil’ previously unknown tea in the docs.
For context, Lisa and Jason announced their split nearly two years ago in Jan. 2022. In a joint statement, the former couple said their family, like others, has felt “the squeeze and change of these transformational times.”
At the time, many assumed the announcement date coincided with their separation date. If true, that would’ve meant that their marriage had lasted almost five years, given that they wed in 2017.
However, in her recent filing, Lisa Bonet revealed they had split way before celebrating year five. The paperwork reportedly lists their date of separation as Oct. 7, 2020. This means Lisa and Jason powered through their marriage for about three years. The former pair share two minor children, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf.
This is Lisa’s second marriage, while being Jason’s first.
In her divorce paperwork, Lisa introduced prior agreements between her and Momao, including spousal support. She revealed that neither she nor Jason would be asking for it.
Additionally, stances on their separate property and assets are reportedly “agreed between the parties.”
However, as for their children, Lisa Bonet is reportedly seeking joint physical and legal custody. The docs also reportedly state that Bonet and Momoa were committed to co-parenting.
Following their announcement in Jan. 2022, Jason has been linked to at least two women. He reportedly, per PEOPLE, began dating actress Eiza Gonzlez one month after announcing his split. However, the outlet didn’t confirm the new romance until months later in May. The following month, PEOPLE reported that Eiza and Jason had split due to being “very different people.” Still, they were spotted together on and off throughout 2022.
In Oct. 2023, Jason reunited with his high school girlfriend for a selfie while visiting and working in his home state, Iowa. However, it appears that the encounter was friendly and nostalgic and nothing serious between the former baes.
The ‘Aquaman’ actor and Lisa Bonet have not spoken out about the newly filed divorce documents.
