How Authorities Discovered The Corspe To Be The Man's Mother

According to Daily Mail, police spokeswoman Małgorzata Koniarska issued a statement regarding the discovery.

“We received a report in connection with the disclosure of the body from a family member of the owner of the apartment. The policemen went to Ul. Rogozina in Radlin. In the part of the house belonging to an elderly man, a mummified corpse was discovered.”

Joanna Smorczewska, from the District Prosecutor’s Office, shared how authorities determined the identity of the corpse.

“According to the DNA content, the mummified corpse is that of a woman, Jadwiga L., who died in January 2010, and thus Marian L.’s mother.”

Smorczewska then disclosed how the mother’s corpse arrived at her son’s home.

“It was established that the grave of Jadwiga L., where she was buried on January 16, 2010, remains empty. It is likely that the man dug up the mother’s body immediately after its burial and then mummified it and the body has remained in this house since 2010.”

Additionally, the outlet reported that Marian L. lives less than a mile away from the cemetery where his mother was buried. Authorities suspect that the man may have used his bike to transport the corpse to his home.

The Man Is Also Suspected Of "Mummifying" His Mother's Corpse

Furthermore, the head of the district prosecutor’s office, Marcin Felsztyński, also shared that the man may have taken additional steps to further mummify his mother’s corpse.

“Everything indicates that the man must have used some chemicals to mummify the corpse.
The smell of mothballs was noticeable.”

Regardless of the smell, Felsztyński noted that the woman’s body was still in “perfect condition.”

According to the outlet, neighbors regard the suspect as a “loner,” explaining that they didn’t even know his name. One neighbor explained that the man “always left the house at night,” taking his bike and going “into the unknown.”

The mother’s corpse will reportedly be reburied.
