Taking to Instagram, Lizzo cleared social media users questioning her apparent muscle gains and fat loss. Furthermore, she let fans know that her transformation started with self-love rather than self-critique.

Lizzo Reacts To Ongoing Comments About Her Weight Loss

This past weekend, on Sept. 14, the singer shared a workout video on her Instagram feed. She was dressed in black leggings, a cropped black top, and white sneakers. The video took fans through her fitness gym routine. Meanwhile, in the clip’s voiceover, Lizzo clocked the obsession with her body and celebrated her growth.

“There’s been a lot of comments on my body lately, so this workout video comes with a message. I love this fat a** okay. I love my body, and that’s incredible because there were times in my life when I was smaller than I am now, and I hated myself.”

The singer explained that before physical fitness became her priority, she worked on her self-love. Self-love for her goes beyond accepting herself as she is but also “accepting the fact that you change.”

“Our bodies grow and sag and stretch and shrink, and true body positivity is not fighting that. It’s honoring that. So wherever you are in your journey, I ain’t gon’ judge ya, just as long as you’re on a path to love.”

Lizzo’s comment section on the workout video now has over 4,500 reactions. Fans stepped in to encourage and celebrate the singer, while others trolled the haters.SZA stepped in with a loving message for her industry peer, writing, “I LOVE YOU. YOU ARE PERFECT AT ALL TIMES AT ALL SIZES!!!”

Singer Recently Reacted To TV Show Trolling Her

In May, the raunchy animated show ‘South Park’ released an episode mocking Lizzo’s body positivity message and the increased use of Ozempic for weight loss. The singer reacted to the reference by taking it as a compliment from the show’s creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

“I really show the world how to love yourself and not give a f*** to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f*** I am” Lizzo said.
