#Roommates, rapper/singer Lizzo has a lot to celebrate these days! Aside from winning awards, selling out shows and covering magazines, she has now officially made history on the Billboard charts courtesy of her chart-topping single, Truth Hurts.
After recently urging her fans to continue streaming Truth Hurts, Lizzo is definitely reaping the benefits of her request. As @ABCNews reports, Truth Hurts has officially tied the record for the most weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for a rap song by a female artist. The song has been sitting atop the chart for a record seven weeks, which was initially set back in 2014 by Iggy Azalea with her hit song Fancy.
The song is from Lizzos third studio album, Cuz I Love You, which returned to number one after being briefly replaced by Travis Scotts latest album, Highest in the Room. Truth Hurts is also dominating the urban charts, where it remains at number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for an eighth straight week.
Those are not the only records shes breaking, as she also just broke the record for longest solo female number one in history, since Truth Hurts doesnt contain any features. With sunshine comes a bit of rain however because Lizzo has been in the middle of multiple plagiarism claims and lawsuits for her singles, Truth Hurts and Juice.
Los Angeles songwriter Justin Raisen has accused her of using his lyrics, melody and chords for Truth Hurts and neglecting to give him credit or compensation. Additionally, dance music legend CeCe Peniston is also throwing accusations Lizzos way, claiming that she appropriated CeCes hit Finally for her track Juice.
