LL Cool J’s Wife Simone Drops Gems On How She Became Confident In Her Marriage

Simone recently pulled up to the ‘Banking on Cultura’ podcast where she spilled all the tea about the effort she put in to keep the foundation of her and LL’s marriage strong. She admitted she had to level up, gain confidence, and accept that she’s married to a “sex symbol.” But even with that, she made sure to stay prayed up and focus on herself.

“I had my times where I would be going off, you know, mad at this one because they looked at him this way. But you know, that was years ago.”

She also mentioned that she learned you can’t change nobody but yourself, so that’s exactly what she did. She changed from “being an around the way girl” and became more “mature.”

Additionally, Simone made it clear she’s cool with women thinking LL Cool J is fine, but one thing she’s never going for is disrespect. “The disrespect I cannot deal with. At 54, I’m ready to take off the hoops,” she joked.

But don’t let that fool you; she’s still extremely confident in herself and her marriage because she’s made her house a home and doesn’t have any desire to clock LL’s moves. “The closer you get to God, the more you will understand who God is in your life and what your purpose is.”

More About Simone & LL Cool J

LL Cool J, aka James Todd Smith, met his wife Simone back in 1987, and they later tied the knot in 1995. According to Essence, the power couple has four kids together. LL once told OK! Magazine how he keeps the spark alive in their marriage. He also noted that being supportive plays a huge part.

The romantic aspects of the marriage need to take place during the day. Too many men make the mistake of wanting to get romantic at the last second. It takes all day, and its an ongoing thing. Its about support,” LL said.
