Husband Arrested After Police Reportedly Find Wife’s Body Wrapped In Plastic Inside Philadelphia Home

Police have charged a 65-year-old man, Vladimir Lushevskiy, after reportedly finding the body of his deceased wife, Lola Karabaeva, wrapped in plastic in the closet of their home in Philadelphia.

Details On Missing Philadelphia Wife & Her Husband’s Alleged Charges

Philadelphia police stated that someone last spotted Lola Karabaeva on October 12. However on Wednesday, October 16, officers discovered her body at home and arrested her husband, Vladimir Lushevskiy, 65 for abuse of a corpse.

PEOPLE reports on Wednesday (Oct. 16) detectives discovered Lola’s body wrapped in plastic inside a closet during their search.Police discovered Lola Karabaeva’s body during their third search of the home, The Philadelphia Inquirer states. After two earlier searches turning up nothing, officers noticed a dark stain near a closet. Removing a wooden board at the back of the closet revealed a trash bag sealed with duct tape containing Lola’s body.

Neighbors shared home security with Fox 29 News Philadelphia showing Lola Karabaeva arriving at her Northeast Philadelphia home on October 12. They reportedly say it was the last time she was seen, shortly after returning from a trip to Europe.

“I’ve lived here for nine years so I’ve never heard any screaming. I’ve never heard anything bad, but it’s just very disturbing to know this is happening,” a neighbor said.

Investigators have not yet determined Karabaeva’s cause of death, but they are reportedly treating the case as a homicide. Authorities haven’t filed any additional charges against her husband, Vladimir Lushevkiy. However, they reportedly indicated that more charges could arise as the investigation continues.

Frank Vanore, Deputy Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department, mentions that investigators are looking into whether Lola’s death might be connected to an alleged argument with her husband. Reports allege the pair reportedly argued about their son’s death from 20 years ago.

In 2004, while on vacation in California, the couple’s 19-year-old son vanished, and authorities found his remains six years later. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
