Man Exposes Daughter’s Mother For Removing Their Child’s Braids Because His Wife Did Them

A man exposed his daughter’s mother for her reaction to his wife braiding his daughter’s hair. According to screenshots of an alleged text thread with the mother, she removed the style–taunting the father with progress photos. Now, Facebook users are debating the effects of co-parenting relationships on children.

“So my daughter’s mom put these braids in my baby head the day b4 Thanksgiving and her head and scalp looked like this,” the father wrote on Facebook. “So I had my wife do something quick and clean to my baby’s head b4 I dropped her off. And this is how her mom acted.”

The father, identified as Kirk Stone on his profile, also included photos and videos of the child’s hair before and after the new hairstyle. In the before footage, the young girl’s hair was styled in cornrows with white beads at the ends. The style appeared to be days old–that Jim Jones shaggy special.

Wife Braids Hair, Mother Takes Style Out

Kirk’s Facebook profile indicates that he’s engaged to Dajanai Latrese–not yet married. However, he addresses his significant other as his “wife” in the viral post. At Kirk’s request, the fiance/wife opted for cornrows adorned with the same white beads. But the girl’s mother, identified as Amari Jones in the text thread, was displeased by the Dajanai’s efforts, calling the style wasted time.

“So you let yo gf touch my daughter hair? For NO REASON HUH waisted her time TAKING IT DOWN,” the mother allegedly wrote.”

The mother attached a photo of the style partially taken out. Minutes later, she texted, “MADE HER SIT FOR NO REASON.”Eleven minutes after the first text, the mother sent another picture of their daughter’s hair. This time the braided style was gone entirely, and her hair was swept into two vertical buns.

The mother tried to call Kirk within the exact minute of sending the updated photo. It’s unclear if the parents spoke on the phone after the missed call or when the texts were sent precisely. But Kirk published the status and footage on Monday afternoon–days after Thanksgiving.

Facebook Users React To Father’s Post

By Tuesday, the post had over 7,300 shares and nearly 3,000 comments. The reactions range from “bitter mother” comments to questions about what led to their soured co-parenting relationship. So why did the father share this private dispute? He says he wanted to show proof of behavior he claims is typical.

“I usually don’t do this but I wanted to show a small example of the bitterness and ignorance, hurting my baby to try and hurt me. SAD,” Stone wrote.

Dajanai also shared Kirk’s post, writing “sad and very bitter” in her caption.
