Roommates, we are sending our prayers to the family of the man who was found deceased in the West Hollywood home of Democratic donor Ed Buck.
According to KTLA 5, for the second time in an 18 month span, a man was found deceased in the political activists home. Paramedics reported to Ed’s apartment shortly after 1 a.m, on Monday. They tried to revive the man, but unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators did not release the victim’s name, but he was described as a black man in his 50’s. The victims passing comes after 26-year-old Gemmel Moore was found dead from an apparent overdose in Ed’s apartment on July 27, 2017. Officials confirmed that Ed was present during both incidents, and Gemmel’s case is reportedly facing another review.
Sheriff’s Lt. Derrick Alfred said, “It is suspicious that this has happened twice now. So we’re going to conduct a thorough investigation to determine if it is criminal in nature.”
At the moment, Ed has not been named as a suspect and has not been arrested for the victims passing. His attorney, Seymour Amster has denied that Ed is responsible for either death.
Seymour told reporters that Ed and the victim had been friends for 25 years and claim he “had already been partying … and already taken some substances,” before he arrived. He also claims “the individual was exhibiting bizarre behavior.”
Those who knew Gemmel said he was working as an escort when he visited Ed’s apartment back in July 2017. Seymour has denied those claims.
Gemme’s mother, Latisha Nixon, has accused Ed of having young black men ingest dangerous amounts of drugs for his own pleasure. She says that other escorts have also confirmed these allegations.
