Mariah The Scientist is serving looks and loyalty, but not everyones here for it. The R&B hitmaker is responding to the haters whove got something to say about her very public love for Young Thug. From her chart-topping ‘Burning Blue’ to her recent sweet birthday surprise for her man, Mariahs unbothered and in love.
Sis is letting the haters know shes unbothered, okay? In a recent chat with the Associated Press on Friday, August 22, the singer got real about the backlash shes faced for openly gushing over her boo. The fact that I do talk about him, they get mad about it, you know? she said. Mariah explained that folks act like theyre all for love but stay judging her relationship choices.
Shes not new to the scrutiny, though, saying its practically expected at this point. But does that stop her? Absolutely not. Mariah made it clear shes not letting the noise dim her shine or her love. I just want to be able to actively decide on my own if its something that I want to do or not, or if its something thats serving me or not serving me, she said. The songstress finds it therapeutic to pour her heart into her music, like her hit Burning Blue, which is all about her romance with Thug. She even mentioned a collab with Kali Uchis, where she talks about it in-depth.
Mariah makes it clear that the process hasnt been easy, but shes owning her narrative and making no apologies for loving out loud.
