And the wedding was a black-tie affair, complete with a ballerina performance. Soon, the internet started yapping about the celebration’s luxurious elements.

Dr. La’Boris Cole Sapp Says Her Husband Is “Integral”

So, while speaking to the congregation on Sunday, Dr. La’Boris reportedly thanked her husband for accepting her in full and never making it a competition between them.

“Make sure you know who you’re marrying, that you dont marry somebody trying to compete with you. So, Bishop, thank you so much for taking all of me, all that came with me, ministry, goofy, loud, happy, loving,” she said.

La’Boris added that Marvin Sapp is a good man who doesn’t defraud the church. “You dont take or rob the church. The church didnt pay for the wedding, yall stop lying. Gods been good to me.”

Dr. La’Boris speaking on her husband’s character comes a year after his “close the doors” controversy. At the time, video surfaced of him encouraging a conference crowd in 2024 to donate to the church, and encouraging what appeared to be ushers to “close the doors.” He said on the ‘Rickey Smiley Morning Show’ last year that the resurfaced footage led to death threats against his family. However, he clarified that the donations went back to the church’s conference budget, denying that he cashed in on any of it.

“Im not walking around here trying to be a pimp. Im not trying to take advantage of people. Thats never been my passion. Im serious about ministry,” Marvin Sapp explained on the morning show.
