Police in #Maryland say they arrested a 34-year-old man from #Frederick because he knowingly transferred HIV to women that he met on various dating websites and apps.

Frederick County police arrested #RudolphSmith after obtaining evidence during a 21-month investigation that he was actively having sex with women knowing that he was HIV positive, @wusa9 reports.

Detectives are now trying to find potential victims of Smith and have already identified and contacted several of his victims.

Detectives also received several search and seizure warrants against Smith in their investigation, which has resulted in Smith being indicted by a grand jury on the following charges:

  • 4 counts of first-degree assault
  • 4 counts of reckless endangerement
  • 4 counts of knowingly transferring HIV

It wasn’t immediately reported which dating apps and websites he used or how many women he may have contacted through them.
