Massive Fire Breaks Out At Tyreek Hill’s Florida Home

Firefighters rushed to Tyreek Hill‘s home on Wednesday (January 3) after a fire broke out at the athlete’s property.

Aerial footage circulating on social media shows excessive smoke spewing from the roof of a home in Southwest Ranches, South Florida.

The blaze grew so big that it required multiple police and firefighters from different nearby agencies to respond. Marca reports that they carved holes into sections of the roof to allow the smoke to escape while another team tackled the fire by dousing it with water to quell the growing flames.

A spokesperson for Hill has since confirmed that the Miami Dolphins star was not home when the fire broke out. He was at a practice game when he received the call about the disastrous situation.

“Tyreek has been in communication with his family. Everyone is out of the house and safe at this time. He has also left practice to deal with the situation,” the statement read, per Bleacher Report.

The statement assured that those who were at the home at the time of the fire had been evacuated and moved to safety.

NBC Miami obtained photos showing Hill back at the property with his family members, seemingly waiting to be granted permission to reenter the house.

His teammate, Tua Tagovailoa, who was at the practice game with Hill when he eventually learned about the scary situation, told reporters that the most important thing was that everybody was safe.

“The main thing is his family is safe, his loved ones are good, he’s good as well,” Tagovailoa said, per Local 10. “I’m just glad that a lot of his family members are safe…We’re thinking of them, hoping that everyone is good.”

Firefighters have since extinguished the fire and left a large hole in the roof where the smoke passed through as they tackled the growing flames.

Officials Reveal The Cause Of The Fire At Tyreek Hill’s Home

On Thursday, WSVN reported that Davie Fire Rescue labeled the fire “unintentional” and “accidental.” Their investigation found that the blaze took over a room in the home after a child reportedly played with matches or a lighter. At this time, it’s unclear if the child involved is related to Hill.

Hill had just purchased the 9,300-square-foot mansion in 2022 for a reported $6.9 million. Outside of having eight bathrooms and seven bedrooms, some of the amenities the property boasts include a theater, a swimming pool, and two guest houses.

Hill shares the property with his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, whom he recently married in a private ceremony held in Travis County Texas.

His nuptials came on the heels of two women coming forward and filing a paternity suit against him, alleging he had fathered their children and had yet to provide a sufficient amount in child support.
