Meek Mill & Michael Rubin Create $2 Million Scholarship Fund For Philadelphia Students

TSR Positive Images: School systems have been some of the most neglected parts of our society and the pandemic has definitely added some pressure for districts to provide resources for students! With the help of another Philly native, Meek Mill is working to change that.

According to TMZ, Meek and 76ers partner Michael Rubin have created their own scholarship fund to help underprivileged youth in Philadelphia! The fund is expected to help nearly 1,000 students in the Philly school system and is expected to be distributed immediately.

A source close to the situation tells TMZ that the money will allow students from poverty-stricken homes to attend private schools throughout the city, and will give virtual learning students access to any equipment they may need, including laptops, tablets, and WiFi.

Meek Mill has heavily advocated for Philadelphia students, and is a big proponent of social justice in the city as a whole. Despite his efforts, Meek recently found himself being criticized for offering local rappers record deals in exchange for stopping the violence!

Meek also found himself in the hot seat a few days ago, after he saw a group of boys selling water on the side of the road and gave them $20 to share. People criticized his giving, saying he definitely could’ve given more and even bought their entire cooler of waters to support.

Now that Meek have put his money where his mouth is with this scholarship fund, fans may see things differently.
