Megan Thee Stallion was givin’ it to the gworls at MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards (VMAs). The Houston Hottie hosted the Video Music Awards in New York on Wednesday, September 11, and ultimately walked away with the win for ‘Best Trending Video.’But first, she arrived at the event’s black carpet in a black Nicole Felicia Couture gown.
While the audience and viewers enjoyed the performances, they couldn’t help but notice Meg’s fire ‘fits. In fact, Meg kicked off the show by popping out onstage in a look that paid tribute to none other than her gworl Beyonc. The ‘Savage’ rapper recreated Beyonc’s 2024 Olympic introduction outfit. Queen Bey posted the look on Instagram in July, serving star-spangled realness ahead of the 2024 Olympics.
Megan seemed to channel her look by wearing a similar glittering bodysuit adorned with stars and stripes. While Bey’s was embossed with “USA” at the center, Meg’s had “VMA” instead, which she revealed during the event stood for “Voluptuous Megan Awards.” The Hot Girl coach completed her look with a blunt cut bob and sleek white pointed-toe pumps.
Megan’s outfit tributes didn’t end there! The ‘Wanna Be’ raptress appeared onstage in another look that honored Britney Spears. The inspiration was Spears’ 2001 VMAs performance of ‘I’m A Slave 4 U.’ Thee Stallion wore a green bustier top and micro-denim shorts with blue fabric hanging from them, creating a skirt effect around her legs. She also included a real yellow snake as her accessory, with its head wrapped around her abdomen, just like Britney did in the early 2000s.
In addition to hosting the annual award show, Megan hit the stage to perform a medley of her hits. The femcee rapped bars from her chart-topping tracks like ‘HISS,’ ‘B.A.S.,’ and ‘Mamushi.’ Meg danced onstage in a yellow strappy two-piece set featuring a bralette and matching cutout bottoms.
Megan continued to impress with fierce fashion looks, channeling her inner Roman goddess in a metal top paired with a pleated blue and gold skirt. She complemented the outfit with a long sparkly gold cape and finished the ensemble with gold accessories and gladiator-style shoes.
Finally to close out the show, Megan Thee Stallion wore a sparkling sheer sequin dress. The gorgeous strapless piece was decorated with glittery gems throughout. To let the look speak for itself, the femcee simply paired it with a black choker necklace.
At one point on stage, she also rocked a stunning red dress that gave half-bustier, half-suit and tie vibes. See her line-up of outfits below.
