Migos Unexpectedly Cancel Governors Ball Performance Following Breakup Rumors—Lil Wayne Added As Replacement

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Migos have officially decided to break up—and the latest news surrounding the trio definitely won’t put those rumors to rest. With just days left until they were scheduled to perform at this year’s Governors Ball, Migos pulled out unexpectedly and Lil Wayne has taken their spot.

For all fans in New York City hoping to see Migos kill it and rip the stage at the 2022 Governors Ball, you’re in for some bad news. @Hypebeast reports, that despite being scheduled to hit the stage at the Governors Ball on June 10th, Migos have surprisingly canceled their performance. This news follows increasing rumors that the group has broken up. On Twitter, the official Governors Ball account responded to Migos backing out and announced who would be replacing them.

“Due to circumstances out of our control Migos are no longer performing at Gov Ball. Updated lineup coming soon,” the account wrote. That tweet was followed by one confirming that Lil Wayne would take the stage instead. “@LilTunechi will be playing the GOVBALLNYC Stage on Friday, June 10th at 6:30pm!” the message read.

If you’ve been keeping up, you’ll recall that rumors about Migos breaking up initially started last month when Offset unfollowed both Quavo and Takeoff on Instagram. That incident was around the time that Quavo and Takeoff released their new joint single ‘Hotel Lobby’ as the new duo called Unc and Phew.

As of now, neither Offset, Quavo nor Takeoff have publicly responded to rumors the group is over.
