
Just days after it was announced that #LovecraftCountry was canceled, the creator of the show, Misha Green, has inked a new deal with Apple TV+.
According to @variety, Green has signed a multi-year overall deal with Apple TV+ after whats being reported as a competitive bidding process for the creator.
With this new deal, Green will create and develop shows exclusively for the platform.
Also, this new Apple TV+ deal will allow Green to work with some of the crew from #Underground, in which she was a co-creator and executive producer for the WGN show that was canceled after two seasons.
At the moment, its unclear if #LovecraftCountry will be renewed.
As you know, the show was not renewed for a season 2 on HBO Max.
In a statement, HBO stated, We will not be moving forward with the second season of Lovecraft Country, HBO said. We are grateful for the dedication and artistry of the gifted cast and crew and to Misha Green, who crafted this groundbreaking series. And to the fans, thank you for joining us on this journey.
Fans of the show were so upset that Lovecraft Country began trending on Twitter. Chloe Bailey tweeted out expressing her sadness about the news, Im really sad about Lovecraft Country. That was my favorite show. Another user tweeted, I lost Pose, Insecure, and Lovecraft Country in under six months. This aint right.
Jonathan and Jurnee havent responded to the news about the shows cancellation, but the shows creator Misha Green took the time to share a tweet and respond to fans. While sharing a map of the United States, shetweeted, A taste of the Season 2 Bible. I wish we could have brought you #LovecraftCountry: Supremacy. Thank you to everyone who watched and engaged. #noconfederate. Over 6 thousand Twitter users retweeted Mishas post and continued to sound off about how much the show is needed.
Despite being canceled, the show has received 18 Emmy nominations.
