Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves Lifts Mask Mandate & Allows Businesses To Open At 100% Capacity

The pandemic may still be around, but it isn’t stopping MS Governor Tate Reeves from lifting the mask mandate and allowing businesses to open at 100% capacity.

On Tuesday, Reeves held a press conference and said, “Today, I signed what I expect will be one of my last executive orders regarding COVID-19. Our hospitalizations have plummeted, and our case numbers have fallen dramatically as well. In fact, our case numbers have fallen to the point where no county meets the original criteria for a mask mandate.”

While most businesses may be able to operate at full capacity, indoor arenas are still at 50 percent.

The executive order will take place starting Wednesday, March 3rd at 5 p.m. and will last through March 31st.

Reeves also stated that masks are still recommended.

As previously reported, Governor Abbott announced Texas will also lift its mandate and business can operate at full capacity.

He also stated, “Today’s announcement doesn’t abandon safe practices that Texans have mastered over the past year. Instead, it’s a reminder that each person has a role to play in their own personal safety & the safety of others. With this executive order, we are ensuring that all businesses and families in Texas have the freedom to determine their own destiny.”
