Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, City Girls, H.E.R. And More Announced As Performers For The 2019 Essence Festival!

There is no doubt that the Essence Festival is one of the hottest festivals to go down during the summer. With this year’s festival quickly approaching, Essence announced the lineup for this year’s show as they prepare to celebrate 25 years.

Fans can expect legends such as Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, Nas, Pharrell Williams, 702, and many others to hit the stage. However, some of music’s newest stars such as H.E.R., Queen Naija, Normani, Jacquees, City Girls and many others will be in the building to shut down the stage.

Michelle Ebanks, the Chief Executive Officer of Essence Communications said, “When the Essence Festival was founded 25 years ago, it marked a pivotal moment of vision and reverence – a critical acknowledgment of an investment in the power of our culture. In the years since it has set a standard that many other festivals have aspired to, and today, the Essence Festival has grown to represent an annual homecoming for Black artists from across the globe. In honor of our 25th anniversary, nearly 30 artists per night over 3 epic nights will come together to mount the world’s largest and most extraordinary cultural celebration. To one and all, we say, ‘Welcome to Essence. Welcome home.’”

Like always, the Essence Festival will be going down during the Fourth of July weekend, from July 4th-7th in New Orleans. Comedian, actress and talk-show host Loni Love will serve as this year’s host.
