Monaleo has never been one to shy away from being open with her supporters. Throughout the years, shes kept fans updated on both the highs and lows of her journey. Earlier this year, the rapper postponed several tour dates after undergoing surgery to remove an inflamed cyst that resulted in the loss of one ovary and a fallopian tube. Recently, she returned with an emotional update about her health journey, while also sending love to anyone currently dealing with PCOS.
On Wednesday, Monaleo took to X with a brief but heartfelt message, writing, “PCOS f**kin sucks. Many supporters quickly gathered under her post, offering words of encouragement and sharing their own experiences with PCOS. The following day, the rapper shared a more in-depth update about her emergency surgery earlier this year. As previously mentioned, the procedure resulted in the loss of one ovary. Monaleo also opened up about the lasting complications and hormone changes she continues to experience. She ended her message by sending love to anyone else navigating PCOS.
She wrote, “Really be sitting back like damn I really couldve died this year. i really had to yell in agony for that hospital to take me serious. I really sat with an ovarian torsion for over 12 hours. I really lost half my reproductive system at 24. and could lose the other half. So many complications. So many hormone changes. I dont even feel like myself. Im blessed, dont mean to sound ungrateful, but today is hard. I feel tired. Hope any other person struggling with pmos/PCOS is getting the help they need. You are not alone on your journey. hugs from your cyster.”
Many gathered across The Shade Rooms platforms as Monaleos post resonated with women navigating PCOS and similar health challenges. Some supporters shared their own experiences, while others offered encouragement and well wishes as she continues her healing journey.

Instagram@adazzleofchar wrote, It’s heartbreaking that Black women are expected to pour into everyone around them emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually, but don’t always receive that same care in return. We deserve to be listened to. We deserve to be treated with urgency, compassion, and dignity. Our lives matter, our voices matter, and our pain matters. It shouldn’t take another tragic story for people to recognize that.
Despite the health challenges she faced behind the scenes, Monaleo continued making her mark and reaching new career milestones. From linking up with Beyonc to releasing her new single, ‘Everything Pinka,’ the rapper kept showing up and showing out. Back in February, Monaleo won Outstanding New Artist at the 57th NAACP Image Awards. In May, she earned the Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist award at the American Music Awards.
Reflecting on the moment, Monaleo wrote, “Through it all God provides. Yall know what i been through this year. The wins mean everything to me. Idk who needs to hear this but your BREAKTHROUGH is on the horizon. First NAACP now AMA. Without my supporters and my village i am dust. Thank you @AMAs. This award is so fitting. Pimpcess the chain breaker!”
The following month, Monaleo attended the BET Awards alongside her hubby, Stunna 4 Vegas. She was also nominated for two BET Awards, adding another milestone to her growing list of accomplishments.
