Even legends face battles off the stage, and Montell Jordan just shared some news thats nothing short of inspiring. The R&B icon, known for hits like ‘This Is How We Do It,’ has revealed that hes officially cancer-free after surviving a second bout of prostate cancer.
Jordan was first diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer in 2024 after a routine screening, but the disease returned in 2025, threatening to disrupt his life once again. On Friday, December 22, he took to Instagram to deliver the uplifting update, calling it the “greatest Christmas gift” he could have received. My doctors called me yesterday morning to let me know that I am undetectable now and cancer-free following a year of having preparation to have a prostate removed, Jordan said in a heartfelt reel.
The journey hasnt been easy. Jordan underwent a radical prostatectomy, followed by targeted radiation and hormone blockers to ensure any potential cancerous growths in his lymph nodes were stopped. He described it as a seven-and-a-half week interruption of life to make sure that I have a longer life, showing the dedication it took to secure his health. Hes also using his experience to raise awareness, promoting his upcoming documentary Sustain, which chronicles the challenges of his prostate cancer battle.
Fans didnt waste a second before flooding the TSR comment section on Instagram with their reactions. Of course, everybody and their mama had to point out that Montell Jordan is still 90s fine, while others dropped heartfelt prayers and praised God for his recovery.
