Whew! LaVar Ball had fans expecting sneaker talk and his usual larger-than-life personality, but he instead dropped a personal revelation that completely shifted the conversation. During a casual mukbang interview, the Big Baller Brand founder opened up about a major life change involving his wife, Tina Balland lets just say, many people never saw this coming.
While appearing on streamer N3on’s YouTube channel, Ball revealed that he and his wife, Tina Ball, have officially ended their nearly 30-year marriage. According to LaVar, Tina decided to “go her own way,” and although he didn’t explain what led to the split, he said there’s no animosity between them. “We had our run,” he shared, before adding that he’s already found someone new. The announcement marks the end of one of basketball’s most well-known family partnerships, as the couple married in 1997 and built the Ball family’s empire while raising sons Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo.
Ball also reflected on Tina’s 2017 stroke, saying her health never changed the way he viewed her and that she remained “beautiful” to him throughout her recovery. Despite the breakup, he spoke positively about the decades they spent together, saying he was grateful to have experienced that kind of love. The revelation comes after another challenging chapter for Ball, who underwent the amputation of his right leg in early 2025 following complications from diabetes and has largely stayed out of the spotlight during his recovery.
Ball also added, “Even though she had the stroke, and getting older, she would never be like, ‘Oh man.’ She was always beautiful in my eyes,” he shared. “Until you say, ‘I want to go do something else.’ Now you’re not as beautiful to me again.”
Roomies wasted no time flooding TSR’s Instagram comment section with their reactions, and opinions were all over the place. While some felt Tina left LaVar after he stood by her through her 2017 stroke and then faced his own health struggles, others pointed to his behavior on their former TV show, ‘Ball in the Family,’ and said they would’ve walked away too. Meanwhile, plenty of commenters weren’t buying the full explanation, saying they believe there’s much more to the story than what’s been shared.
