MTV’s “Making The Band” Officially Returns With Diddy, His Sons And LaurieAnn Gibson As Judges

#Roommates, it’s BAAACCKK! If you’ve been waiting for the last 11 years for MTV’s legendary reality competition series to return…then you are about to be very happy. MTV has just announced the official return of “Making The Band” with the originator Sean “Diddy” Combs, his three sons and original choreographer LaurieAnn Gibson.

The last time that “Making The Band” was on the air was back in the fall of 2009—but things are about to change because it’s officially returning to TV. @MTV just revealed that not only is the series coming back, but if you think you have what it takes to “make the band” you can get in line for the casting round-ups that will be taking place throughout the country.

Diddy, Quincy Brown, Justin Combs, Christian Combs and LaurieAnn Gibson will lend their expertise for finding the next crop of musical superstars in a casting process that is guaranteed to be as intense as it was back in the day when Diddy had Da Band walking all the way to Brooklyn for some cheesecake.

The multi-city casting tour begins this month with open auditions in Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte and New York. Fans will also have the opportunity to experience “Making the Band” vocal booths that will pop-up around each city ahead of the open casting auditions. The first vocal booth will appear in Atlanta and offer hopefuls a music video-style performance to approved audition songs. All submissions can be shared across social platforms and used to submit auditions online.

The casting cities and dates are as follows:

  • February 28-29: Atlanta, GA
  • March 7-8: Houston, TX
  • March 13-14: Charlotte, NC
  • March 21-22: New York, NY

If you can’t make the open casting, you can submit your audition via MTV’s website. Well, we are definitely excited for this!

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
