NBA Player Bryn Forbes Arrested For Allegedly Striking Girlfriend One Week After Being Cut From Timberwolves

NBA guard Bryn Forbes was arrested in San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday after reportedly striking his girlfriend “several times,” just a week after being waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 29-year-old, who has been in the league since 2016, is accused of hitting his girlfriend after an argument between the couple turned physical, per TMZ.

The woman, identified by the Daily Mail as former adult movie star Elsa Jean, and Forbes were on their way back from a local spa when the latter became upset.

Jean, 26, told responding officers that Forbes had caused her “injury and pain” during the alleged assault. He was arrested shortly thereafter at 5 a.m., and was still in police custody as of Wednesday afternoon, jail records show.

She was treated by EMTs on scene who provided her with medical attention, the outlet reports.

The father-of-two was charged with domestic violence – a class A misdemeanor – and was being held on $2,500 bond. Police say an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

The couple had been living together for “several months,” a source close to the ex-pornstar told DailyMail.com. The outlet reports that Jean ‘is leaving him and is devastated’ following the incident.

They were initially introduced by Kylie Jenner’s ex-best friend Jordyn Woods, who’s currently dating Timberwolves star and now Forbes’ ex-teammate Karl Anthony Towns, the outlet reports.

Forbes History In The NBA: Guard Dropped By Timberwolves A Week Prior To Alleged Assault

While Forbes ultimately wasn’t picked in the 2016 NBA draft, he went on to play 36 games that season with the San Antonio Spurs as a rookie regardless.

He played for San Antonio up until 2020, when he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent. Forbes ends up back with the Spurs shortly thereafter before playing for the Denver Nuggets.

He last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves after signing with them in July, however he was waived by the team just last week to make space for a roster spot for Mike Conley, Jr. and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, in a trade that sent D’Angelo Russell to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to the New York Post.

Forbes had previously played college basketball for Cleveland State and Michigan State, and became a reliable three-point shooter in the process.
