The woman who is accusing Nelly of sexual assault in the U.K. is reportedly calling out the police force that has been conducting the investigation.
According to a letter obtained by TMZ, the attorney for the accuser, who is going by Jane Doe, is reportedly putting the lead detective of the Essex Police on blast for not properly handling the investigation and treating her client like a suspect, opposed to a victim.
In the letter, Jane Doe’s lawyer reportedly claims that police have asked for the alleged victim’s phone records, including all photos, texts, and emails between her and her attorney–who mentions that violates their attorney-client privilege under U.S. law.
Jane Doe’s attorney also claims that police have asked her to come in for a follow-up interview to the one she has already done. She is also claiming that they have shown up to her place of residence trying to get her to go to the police station again. However, she claims it took them a year to get Nelly to come in for an interview.
The alleged victim’s attorney reportedly suggests that Essex Police may be intimidated by Nelly and his legal team, and accuses them of not being able to come up with a resolution. Therefore, because Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit against Nelly for the alleged assault, they will no longer be participating in the police’s examination.
As we previously reported, Jane Doe has accused Nelly of masturbating in front of her and forcing his private area into her mouth following one of his shows in 2017.
Nelly has denied these accusations.
