NeNe Leakes' Son Brentt Clarifies He's 'Not Gay'

NeNe Leakes’ Son Brentt Says He’s ‘Not Gay’ After Participating In Viral TikTok Trend

After igniting speculation about his sexuality, Brentt Leakes—NeNe Leakes’ 23-year-old son—is setting the record straight and clarifying that he “loves women.”

Brentt Leakes Says He Jumped On The Trend For Funsies: ‘It’s Just For TikTok’

In a now-expired Instagram Story upload that was reposted by theJasmineBRAND, Brentt clarified that he’s “not gay” and that the speculation was started by his participation in a TikTok trend.

Specifically, Brentt purposefully missed when attempting to throw a piece of trash into a basket, and an on-screen message read, “If I miss I’m gay.” Notably, he ended the video with a lil’ sassy move to top it all off.

Know Your Meme provides further explanation about the trend, noting that “users throw something at a basket or target and intentionally miss under the caption ‘If I miss, I’m gay,’ often followed by them doing something perceivably gay.”

As soon as Brentt jumped on the trend, people instantly began buzzing about whether he had actually come out as gay or not. However, Brentt was sure to clarify that this isn’t the case.

“I’m not gay. I love women. It’s just for TikTok.”

NeNe Addressed The Speculation On The Breakfast Club: ‘Brentt Is Not Gay’

In addition to Brentt directly speaking on the subject, NeNe Leakes also relayed the message during her recent appearance on The Breakfast Club.

Once the matter came up, NeNe confirmed that “Brentt is not gay.” Instead, he was merely doing “some popular TikTok trend.”

“Brentt is not gay. He did some popular TikTok trend, and everybody is calling us up asking if he’s gay or not.”

Charlamagne then asked for clarification that Brentt is indeed not gay, and NeNe responded, “Not to my knowledge.” NeNe was sure to let Brentt know that she supported him either way, though.

“He called me up and said, ‘Mom, everybody is asking if I’m gay because I did this TikTok video thing. And I said, ‘It’s okay if you are gay. It’s fine with me.'”

However, Brentt reiterated, “I’m not gay, Mom.”

NeNe then shared that her son’s happiness is “the most important thing,” and she doesn’t feel the need to ask him about his sexuality, as she’d support him either way.

“I don’t need to ask ‘Are you gay?’ That doesn’t make any sense. What I like to say to people is, ‘Your happiness is the most important thing. So whatever makes you happy.”

She added, “If my son today said that he was gay, I’m 100% okay with it.”

Shoutout to Brentt and NeNe Leakes, and we continue to wish them well.
