Nick Cannon Gets New Daytime Talk Show Set For 2020 Debut

After his impressive and successful run filling in for Wendy Williams during her hiatus from her talk show, many were wondering if/when Nick Cannon would be getting his own—well the time has officially come and it’s much closer than you think.

Nick Cannon has proved to be a master at hosting TV shows, from MTV’s “Wild N Out” to NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and most recently FOX’s “The Masked Singer,” he has been a prominent fixture on our TV screens for many years. Now, according to @deadline he is finally set to make his debut as a daytime TV talk show host on his own platform.

The as-yet-untitled nationally syndicated show will debut in 2020 through an exclusive deal with Lionsgate offshoot Debmar-Mercury. Nick will also serve as co-producer through his production company, Ncredible Entertainment. Since the cancellation of Steve Harvey’s self-titled talk show earlier this year, Nick will be the only black male daytime host to lead his own show.

In a statement regarding his new gig, Nick revealed that hosting his own show has always been a dream:

“After leaving “America’s Got Talent,” I wanted to focus on developing my own talk show. I’ve always dreamed of a platform where I can speak to America and discuss pop culture, as well as the topics on everyone’s minds. When I had the opportunity to guest host at my good friend Wendy Williams’ show this year, I experienced the energy and excitement of a daytime talk show and instantly knew I found my audience.”

“The Masked Singer” premieres its second season on September 25th after being a ratings hit and the number one new rated series of 2019. In addition, this summer Nick launched his own radio show on L.A.’s Power 106 with “Nick Cannon Mornings.” To say he’s one of the busiest men in Hollywood is an understatement.

Roommates, will you be watching?
