Nicki Minaj Says Artists Who Jump On Every Trendy Sound “Become Faceless”

After more than a decade making a killing in the music industry, Nicki Minaj recently shared a gem for developing artists. A few days ago, Joe Budden gave a sneak peek at his next interview guest on his verified Instagram profile. In a live shot photo, Joe and Nicki were seen sitting across from each other in single-seating, blue chairs. The caption said, “once again it’s on.”

On Tuesday, Joe released a preview of the sit-down. In a little over 30 seconds, Nicki spoke briefly on artists and their development techniques. As Joe listened, she expressed her thoughts on folks being drawn to successful methods.

“You know once anybody has success with anything, it seems like everybody just jumps on that sound,” Nicki said.

She continued on saying that this happens even if the artist doesn’t like the successful sound. Nicki also clarified that sometimes it’s not even the artist pushing for the sound, but the “people behind them telling them to do it.”

However, Nicki seemingly suggested that doing so diminishes your individuality and uniqueness as an artist.

Once you do that, and once you do it a couple times, who then are you, she said. Weve now forgotten who you are. I dont think people realize that if you jump on every trend, you become faceless.

More To Come?

At this point in the conversation, Nicki paused in what seemed like a search for additional words. Joe Budden interjected as Nicki took a breath. He said, “this is a deep point” while pointing in Nicki’s direction.Nicki quickly agreed with a sign and slight smack.

“Yeah. It’s important,” the rapper said. “It’s important people know this.”

And just like that, Joe left interested viewers in waiting. The clip ended after Nicki’s last comment and transitioned into the logo representing one of Joe’s many platforms, ‘The Joe Budden Network.’

At this time, it’s unclear when the interview will be released, but check back with us for more! In the meantime, catch the sneak look at Nicki and Joe’s talk below:
