Nicki Minaj Set To Appear On Upcoming Season Of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”

Nicki Minaj fans, are you ready for her next TV appearance? Well, you don’t have long to wait because she just revealed that she’s coming to the VH1 hit reality series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” for its upcoming season set to air in just a few weeks.

The 12th season of the Emmy-winning reality competition series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” premieres on February 28th—and Nicki Minaj has signed on to be part of the fun. She will be a guest judge on the 90-minute season premiere, marking her very first appearance on the series.

In a video, posted to both Nicki’s Instagram and the official Instagram of the show, Nicki is seen walking down the show’s runway stage in an all-red gown and matching red hair. The video then shows contestants reacting to the news that she will be a guest judge, before the video cuts back to Nicki who says, “Welcome to the main stage of “RuPaul’s Drag Race!” I’m Nicki Minaj, and I pledge allegiance to the drag!”

Although Nicki has never actually appeared on the show before, she has definitely been represented in the past. Season 10 contestant and “RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars 4” winner, Monét X Change gave a memorable lip-sync performance to Nicki’s 2012 single “Pound the Alarm.” Additionally, past contestant Trinity K. Bonet previously portrayed Nicki during the season six episode of “Snatch Game,” which is when contestants impersonate celebrities.

Describing what fans can expect for season 12, RuPaul said this about the show:

“The best word to describe season 12 is ‘OVANESS!’ Our producers have come up with twisted, outrageous challenges that raise the bar for all competition of reality. Our celebrity guest judges are truly legendary. And this cast of queens is, dare I say, the most talented we’ve ever had. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a fresh crop of queens arrives and blows our minds all over again.”

Additional celebrity guest judges will be announced at a later date.

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
