Nike Reportedly Suspends The Online Sale Of Kobe Bryant Products In An Attempt To Control Resellers

Roommates, Kobe Bryant’s legacy is very special to his family, loved ones, and fans who he inspired to be great! Unfortunately, some folks find ways to profit off of other people’s trauma, and Nike is trying to make sure that does not happen.

According to ESPN, Nike has made the decision to remove all Kobe-related items from the Nike.com store. As of now, the only product that will show up in searches a purple and yellow Nike gift card with the Lakers’ logo printed on it.

The company has reportedly made the decision in an attempt to control how people buy and sell Kobe’s products for their own gain. They would prefer that resellers were not able to stockpile Kobe products and resell them for crazy prices online.

“Throughout the company, Bryant’s imprint is being reflected on, with the gravity of his death weighing heavily across Nike’s global office spaces,” ESPN reports. “Bryant was more than an endorsing athlete at Nike; was a true partner workin in tandem with executives, designers, developers and employees throughout the Swoosh’s corporate structure since he joined the company in 2003.”

We ask that you all continue to send your love and support to the Bryant family during this time.
