To many, this honor is long overdue, but Nina Simone will finally be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
According to Rolling Stone, on Wednesday the Hall of Fame announced the inductees for the 2018 class.
Nina Simone will be among the five inductees including, Bon Jovi,Dire Straits, the Moody Blues, and the Cars.
In order to be eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 25 years has to have gone by since the release of the artists first album or single. Nina Simones first studio album was released in 1958, making her induction long overdue.
The induction ceremony will take place on April 14th, 2018 at Clevelands Public Hall. The Hall of Fame will likely have artists that were inspired by Nina Simone to perform during the ceremony.
