NLE Choppa is speaking out after a social media user accused him of “gay-baiting” with his recent photoshoot for Playgirl magazine.
According to HipHopDX, Choppa graced the latest cover of Playgirl. Per the magazine’s website, his feature included a full-length interview and accomplanying photoshoot. Furthermore, in some photos, the rapper posed shirtless, while others featured him in boxers. Notably, one photo appeared to give viewers a glimpse of NLE Choppa’s backside.
In reaction, @livingthroughJ, a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, took to the platform to react particularly to the photo of Choppa’s backside.
“the gay baiting is seriously out of control now,” the user wrote.
Choppa appeared to catch the user’s tweet and responded. Furthermore, the rapper let the user know he’s “Never been gay baiting.”
“Never been gay baiting. Its me showing freedom. Anything now a days is called gay or its baiting. In reality Im comfortable enough, and have the upmost confidence in how good God designed me head to toe. Call me what you want but a straight man comfortable in my skin, I AM…” he wrote.
Shortly after sharing his tweet, the rapper uploaded a video to the platform, further explaining his thoughts. In the clip, NLE Choppa explained that he shouldn’t be called a “gay-baiter” because he’s “comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated.”

Furthermore, social media users reacted to the initial comments and NLE Choppa’s response in The Shade Room’s comment section.
As The Shade Room previously reported, in April of last year, NLE Choppa spoke out, addressing similar criticism. At the time, the rapper was promoting his single, ‘Sl*t Me Out,’ which featured risqu lyrics and accompanying visuals. In one bar, Choppa rapped, saying that he would have relations with himself.
Subsequently, the rapper spoke against the chatter, asserting he’s just “in love” with himself. However, his “intimacy” lies only with women.
Later that month, however, Choppa would spark additional conversation by thanking the LGBTQ+ community for supporting the song.
