California Man Arrested For Allegedly Sending Death Threats To Judge Ashlee Cole Amid Nolan Wells Death Investigation

A man is facing up to five years in prison after allegedly sending death threats to Judge Ashlee Cole on Facebook. Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce, according to the Sacramento Bee, is in police custody on federal charges. Her husband, Dr. Benjamin Hudson, recently offered a $50,000 reward for details leading to an arrest in Nolan Wells‘ death investigation. He doubled down on getting death threats. His son and Ashlee’s stepson, Warren Hudson, traveled with Nolan to Horn Island on July 4.

Details About California Man’s Alleged Death Threats

As mentioned, the FBI alleges Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce is the person behind the @yaeyae962 account that went after Ashlee Cole. Its task force, Safe Streets, tracked down Dumarce through his email IP addresses and linked them to the username. In the charging documents, he’s accused of threatening that a package would arrive and “blow” her away when she saw it.

“It’s probably best to have the boys there to see as well,” he allegedly threatened. “So much blood everywhere.” “Hard to clean.” “I got all you info.” “But yours will be quick I promise.” Additional messages said her sons would be “strangled.”

What Happens Next?

Dumarce, 27, is being charged for interstate transmission of a threatening communication. If convicted at the max punishment, he could spend five years in prison, be fined $250,000 and be on post-release supervision for at least three years.

According to the SunHerald, Dumarce has a history of violating the law and other people. In 2019, police arrested him for exposing himself to a 13-year-old outside of an elementary school. The court convicted that same year and the following one. He has an entry in the Megan’s Law, the sex offender registry in California. He reportedly got out of prison in 2023.

Ashlee Cole & Family Have Been Speaking Out About The Death Threats

Judge Ashlee Cole, her husband, and her stepson have all been addressing the threats. Sheshared screenshots earlier this month that included graphic death threats.

This week, Dr. Hudson also said his family has been “living through a nightmare” since Nolan Wells’ passing became national news. Also, his son, Warren Hudson, had a three-part interview with YouTuber Officer Tatum about July 4. He ran down the events of that day, from loading at the dock to Nolan’s parents receiving his phone.
