By now, we’re sure many of you may have seen a video of a grown man punching a young girl while he was surrounded by a group of teens. The incident reportedly took place on Saturday at the Asheville Mall in North Carolina.
According to WLOS, the man accused of pushing and punching the child was arrested following the incident. Police said a fight involving juveniles broke out at the mall. During the fight, David Steven Bell reportedly pushed and punched a girl under the age of 12.
An off-duty police officer arrested the 51-year-old and charged him with one count of assault on a female under 12 and two counts of assault on a female.
According to The Root, Bell was reportedly released shortly after his arrest as he is “not listed as a current inmate in Buncombe County Detention Center’s online records.”
Following the incident, the mall released a statement on their official Facebook account and said, “We are aware of the videos circulating on social media. The Asheville Police Department responded immediately and the situation was diffused. An arrest has been made. Please contact the Asheville Police Department with further questions.”

I’m sorry to share this, but I need the police and prosecutors to feel our full wrath on this. Last night, at the Asheville Mall in Asheville, North Carolina, David Steven Bell, listed as 6 foot 5 inches tall, and 250 pounds, first shoved, then knocked out an 11 year old girl with a closed fist punch right to her face. Mall cops hardly took the thing seriously and local police charged the man with a damn misdemeanor. He’s already out. A misdemeanor. I’m furious.
