NYU’s School Of Medicine Is Covering Tuition For All Students!

#Roommates, if you’re considering a career in the medical field, NYU might be where it’s at considering tuition is now covered.

That’s right, there’s no catch, officials of the #NewYorkUniversitySchoolofMedicine announced today they’re covering tuition for all of their students, regardless of merit or need. The reason? Well they understand the “overwhelming financial debt” that graduates face, according to New York Times. The average debt for members of the class of 2017 was $184,000!

The plan, which is effective immediately, covers all current and future students. Annual tuition for the school is about $55,000 but the plan does not cover room and board or fees.

“This decision recognizes a moral imperative that must be addressed, as institutions place an increasing debt burden on young people who aspire to become physicians,” said dean of the medical school, Robert I. Grossman.

#Roomies, do you think all schools should implement free tuition for students? Let us know!
