Folks think Rihanna has clapped back at Drake using viral footage of herself dancing with A$AP Rocky. The video was shared on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, August 4, and it had a message for her “X.”
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna were in Barbados celebrating the Crop Over Festival earlier this week, and a video of the duo dancing went viral. The couple was jammin’ to dancehall artist Spice on the Aura SOS Cruise, and Rihanna turned around to twerk in front of A$AP Rocky. Cameras caught the moment, as well as a man who turned around to look at the couple with a blank expression. Furthermore, the clip went viral on TSR’s Instagram, sparking over 14,000 comments to date.
Subsequently, Rihanna shared an edited clip of the moment via her Instagram Story. Furthermore, it was captioned, “my x in the studio,” with the text appearing near the bystander’s blank stare.
Rumor has it that Rihanna dated Drake once upon a time. The former friends reportedly met in 2005, per Billboard. The ‘Work’ singer and ‘One Dance’ artist were seen together on multiple occasions. Nonetheless, Rihanna never publicly confirmed they were dating.
During the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, while presenting Rihanna with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Drake professed his love on live television. However, she told Vogue in 2018 that she didn’t like Drake’s speech and they no longer had a friendship.
Meanwhile, Drake used to be friends with A$AP Rocky, and they collaborated on the 2012 track ‘F*ckin Problems’ with Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz. However, things seemingly soured when the ‘Punk Rocky’ artist began dating Rihanna back in 2020.
The Canadian recording artist seemed to diss his friend on several tracks from his 2023 album, ‘For All The Dogs.’ In return, the native New Yorker delivered a verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s 2024 track ‘Show of Hands’ that referenced folks being in their feelings over females. Fans believe he meant Drake being hurt over Rihanna.
Fast-forward to last May, Drake’s album ‘ICEMAN’ was released. His diss track ‘Burning Bridges‘ on the record is believed to be a dig at his old friend A$AP Rocky. Fans believe the song’s lyrics, “Your baby mama ain’t even post your single, d*mn” is believed to be a reference to Rihanna allegedly not promoting a track on A$AP Rocky’s 2026 album ‘Don’t Be Dumb.’
Now, fans think Rihanna clapped back with the video and “X” comment about being in the studio. Also, earlier this week, A$AP Rocky admitted that he would compete in a celebrity boxing match against Drake during a recent interview. “Bare knuckles like the Irish,” he said while speaking on the beef.
After seeing the footage and message, fans believe that RiRi was clapping back at Drake with the twerking video, literally. In TSR’s comment section, Roomies noted Rihanna’s good sense of humor.
