One Of DMX’s Fans Shares How He Encouraged Her To Forgive Her Father Who Suffered From Addiction

Roomies, today, many people all over the world have been sharing heartfelt stories about their encounters with the late DMX. Although it’s still tough to believe that he is no longer with us, many are dwelling on the rapper’s good times and the legacy that he is leaving behind. One of DMX’s fans, Sheila, shared her life-changing meeting with the rap icon in 2017 on Twitter, which shows just how much DMX loved his fans.

In a series of tweets, Sheila opened up about how DMX gave her the courage to forgive her father, who suffered from addiction. Sheila tweeted, “We met in 2017 after I heard him from my room in the hallway of my hotel. It was all divine intervention. I ran to the hallway and met him. We spoke for 15 mins.” Sheila continued to explain how DMX told her to forgive her father for what he couldn’t control. Sheila felt as if he was the perfect messenger because she grew up listening to his music because of her father.

With such a profound testimony, TSR reached out to Sheila to get more of this incredible story. “So, my dad actually passed in 2012 & I had this encounter in 2017. I was holding onto so much hurt from it, and after meeting DMX, I finally was able to bring myself to visit his gravesite for the first time since his funeral,” Sheila exclusively tells us.

She continued, “I’m truly at peace with the fact that my father did his best with something that was much larger than him. Larger than any of us.” We asked Sheila if she could share any message to DMX about the advice he gave her and, she replied, “It would simply be thank you. Thank you for your art over the years — I feel like you said everything through your music that my dad couldn’t find the words to articulate. Thank you for showing me the healing power in forgiveness and extending grace to others.”

We miss you, DMX!
