One person was killed and 6 others were injured at a cookout earlier today in Baltimore.  Apparently there were two cookouts happening near the 2500 block of Edmondson Avenue, CNN reports. As of yet, officials have not determined if the cookouts were linked in any way.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said that a gunman was possibly targeting one or more people in the crowd. The gunman reportedly walked up to the intersection where both cookouts were taking place on opposite sides of the street and started “firing indiscriminately into the crowd”.

The person who passed reportedly ran behind a church and then collapsed.  It is being said that the victims were a mix of both males and females. Their conditions are unknown at this moment.

As of now, the gunman is yet to be identified. “We know that many people were out here,” Harrison said. “It is only with the community’s help that we will be able to identify those responsible.”

Authorities are urging anyone who may possibly have any information to come forward.
