In a now-viral TikTok video, a user expresses frustration with the content group AMP. In her caption, she specifically calls out Kai Cenat and also mentions Duke Dennis, claiming they left a Topgolf location in San Antonio without tipping. After Duke Dennis caught wind of the video, he left a message in the comments!
AMP is currently in San Antonio for their “30 Days of Streaming” challenge, where each member is committed to going live every day throughout July. The group has been staying at former NBA player Tony Parkers mansion while creating content.
TikTok user @bianxjesalva posted the video on Saturday, which has garnered over 79,000 views. In the post, she identified herself as a former Topgolf employee and said a coworker told her the AMP group had left about an hour earlier without leaving a tip. According to the creator, the group occupied five to six bays, about a section and a half, yet left no tip for the servers.
“I dont know how long they were here, but they should learn tipping culture,” she said in the video. “Especially for the amount of money I know they have.” In the caption, she added:
Maybe they didnt know??? But still, if I had their kind of money, I would be tipping AT LEAST $100 everywhere I go! BARE MINIMUM. If its great service, easy $1K tip. I dont understand @DukeDennis @KaiCenat. It wasnt even me and Im baffled.”
After the video gained traction, AMP member Duke Dennis responded in the comment section. He left a brief message: “We didnt know, we will fix it .” The videos creator responded directly to him, writing:
“Also I wanna say that the managers did not allow the server to talk to them idk if that was a request made by whoever booked it for yall or just TG management. In case the service wasnt great.”
The video sparked a flurry of responses online. Many TikTok users are weighing in on the situation and the broader tipping culture.
TikTok user @ekemxsam wrote, “Hate tipping culture. They lucky AMP is nice and will fix the situation cuz this video woulda been the reason I never tipped at top golf again”
Another TikTok user @kartierlyssa wrote, “Are they obligated to?”
While TikTok user @iianlanaaa.2uu wrote, “Tipping is deserved not just giving”
TikTok user @quietplace_05 wrote, “Some of yall are missing the point its not just that theyre rich, its that they didnt tip at all. As a server, not getting tipped is frustrating regardless of if the guest looks rich or not because they go out of our way to give people great experiences just to pay there bills.”
Another TikTok user @n0ttjayda wrote, “Gonna go watch the stream to see if the service was even good then ima come back and comment”
While TikTok user @solo.blues wrote, “Nobody else would have got a video for not tipping at Topgolf”
TikTok user @leas5040 wrote, “Yall gotta realize they dont handle their own reservations and stuff they have assistants for that”
While TikTok user @843.juron wrote, “Maybe the service wasnt good enough for a tip do better”
