O’Shea Jackson Jr. To Star In New Biopic As Baseball Player Dock Ellis

Earlier this week Ice Cube received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it looks like his son O’Shea Jackson Jr. will follow in his footsteps as he continues to build his acting resume.

O’Shea has landed himself the starring role in the upcoming biopic, based on Major League Baseball Player, Dock Ellis.

According to Variety, David Permut, Jeff Kwatinetz, and Ice Cube will produce the untitled film.

The film will tell the story of Ellis, who played major league baseball for 12 years. He was known to continue the fight Jackie Robinson started for African-Americans in the major leagues.

Of his years playing in the major leagues, Ellis played in the World Series in 1971 and 1976. However, what makes his story more interesting is when he revealed he pitched a no-hitter in 1970 while high on LSD.

After his retirement in 1979, he admitted he never pitched during a game sober.

Ellis later received treatment for his addiction and dedicated his life to helping those who suffered from the same addiction. Ellis died in 2008 from liver ailment at the age of 63.

Roommates, what are your thoughts?
