Paris Jackson Shuts down Colman Domingo’s Claims She Helped With Upcoming Michael Jackson Biopic

On Tuesday, September 2, Paris Jackson took to her Instagram Story to share a picture of herself seemingly getting her hair done. In the post, she included a brief caption tagging Colman Domingo’s account. Furthermore, Paris wrote:

“@kingofbingo don’t be telling people i was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie i had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird.”

Then, Paris followed up with another post:

“i read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest / didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it i moved on with my life. not my monkeys not my circus. god bless and god speed.”

Then, a few hours later, Jackson returned to her Instagram Story to explain more about what allegedly happened with Domingo and her dad’s upcoming biopic. To note, per PEOPLE, Domingo plays Joe Jackson, MJ’s father, in the film, which is set to release in 2026. While recently speaking with the outlet, he alleged that he chatted “very briefly” with Paris about the movie. Additionally, he stated that Paris and her brother, Prince, are “very much in support” of the project.

“There’s been a lot of responses to the thing that I posted earlier, clarifying that I wasn’t involved at all,” Paris explained. “Aside from like, giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that, ‘Yeah, we’re not actually going to adjust to your notes at all.’ Alright. So I just like, budded out, and I left it alone. It’s not my project, so they’re going to make whatever they’re going to make.”

Furthermore, Paris explained that she hasn’t gone public with her dissatisfaction with the biopic, up until now, because she felt like the public was “going to be happy” with the final product regardless.

“…The film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re going to be happy with it,” she said. “…The thing about these biopics is that is that… it’s fantasy land, it’s not real… the narrative is being controlled. There’s a lot of inaccuracy and a lot of just full-blown lies…”

Michael Jackson’s Eldest Reacts To Those Who Believe She Hates Her Dad

Paris Jackson’s statements didn’t end there. Furthermore, she shared a follow-up post, addressing “something that quite a lot of people are saying.”

“‘She hates her dad. She resents him. She wants nothing to do with him.’ Because I’m not calling the shots on set, being a big shot producer of a movie that’s filled with just inaccuracies. Um, that’s not my truth. That’s not where I’m coming from. I just prefer honesty over sales and monetary gain. That’s it, and I kind of just don’t want anything to do with that,” she said.

Paris Jackson Previously Made Headlines When She Addressed Fans Who Were Upset She Didn’t Post Her Dad On His 65th Birthday

Two years before Paris Jackson addressed those who believe she “hates” her dad, she shut down those who were upset about her not posting him on his 65th birthday. As The Shade Room previously reported, in August 2023, Paris took to social media. At the time, she addressed those who “abused, manipulated, and harassed” her. In turn, she explained that her father would “hate anybody acknowledging his birthday” or “wishing him a happy birthday.”

“He actually didnt want us to even know when his birthday was, because he didnt want us to throw a party or anything like that,” she recalled before adding. “…[but] if you dont wish someone a ‘Happy Birthday’ via social media, it apparently means that you dont love them, that you dont care about them.”

Ultimately, Paris suggested what an MJ fan should do if they wanted to celebrate MJ on his birthday.
