Legendary rapper Fatman Scoop real name Isaac Freeman III has reportedly passed away at the age of 56. Furthermore, his official Instagram account has revealed the news.
On Saturday, August 31, a message was shared via Scoop’s official Instagram account revealing the “passing of the legendary and iconic” rapper.
The message went on to say, “Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and real life.”
“Fatman Scoop was not just a world class performer, he was a father, a brother, uncle, and a friend,” the message continued. “He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage.”
The announcement credited Scoop as the “undisputed voice of the club.” Furthermore, the message concluded that Scoop will be mourned. However, it was also noted that he would be celebrated for “his remarkable life and the countless lives he touched.”
“Fatman Scoop’s legacy is of love and brightness, it will reside in our hearts and memories forever,” the message stated.
According to TMZ, Fatman Scoop’s tour manager, Pure Cold, has also confirmed the rapper’s passing. The manager reportedly shared a messagevia his Instagram account on Saturday, August 31.
Social media users have reacted to the news of Scoop’s passing in The Shade Room’s comment section.

Ciara also shared a tribute to Scoop via Instagram.
“Rest Easy at @FatmanScoop! You were truly one of the best voices in hip-hop! Im so glad I got to experience your greatness! We will all miss you greatly ,” the singer wrote.
Additionally, Faith Evans took to Instagram with a tribute as well.
“Prayers up for your family & loved ones @fatmanscoop ” she wrote.
According to the outlet, Scoop was performing at Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut, on Friday, August 30. During his performance, he appeared to suffer a medical emergency on stage.
At the time, it was reported that the 53-year-old had been transported to a local hospital. Furthermore, Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett released a statement asking the public to keep the rapper in their “thoughts and prayers.”
