Prayers Up! Jazmine Sullivan Reveals That Her Grandmother Has Passed Away Five Months After Her Mother

Social media users are sending prayers of love and support to singer Jazmine Sullivan, who just revealed the passing of her grandmother.

More Details Regarding The Passing Of The Singer’s Grandmother

On Friday, December 29, the 36-year-old singer took to her official Instagram account to share a series of posts on her Story. In the first post, the singer shared a photo that seemed to be from her childhood.

The following picture showed a young Sullivan standing next to two women, who seemingly appeared to be her mother, Pamela, and grandmother.

In the following post, Sullivan revealed that her “grandmom” had passed away. Additionally, the singer expanded on her grandmother and mother’s impact on her life.

“Rest now grandmom. I know mommy is so happy to see you!” the singer wrote. “These women are the very reason I sing and write. The reason I’m funny and sassy. The reason I say what I mean according to my conviction. The reason I love God! And the reason I’m strong even when I don’t think I am…”

As her message continued, Sullivan explained that God’s plans were above her own. Additionally, she shared that she is “blessed” to have been “molded and loved fiercely” by her mother and grandmother.

“God decided 2023 I could handle losing them both. Iono why.. but his plans are above me,” she continued. “What I do know is that I was blessed to have been molded and loved fiercely by these amazing women. And I am proud to continue carrying myself in the light in which they raised me! God I thank you for my time with them! I’ll miss you grandma. Hug mommy for me…”

In the last post of her Instagram Story, Sullivan shared another photo of her grandmother.

The Singer’s Mother Passed Away In July

In July, Sullivan took to Instagram to share a childhood photo of her mother and reveal that she had passed away.

“I dont have the words yet mommy. So for now Ill say thank you thank you thank you. Rest now butterfly… 10/26/58- 07/22/23,” the singer wrote in the caption of her post.

At the time, Sullivan did not reveal the cause of her mother’s death. However, outlets such as PEOPLEnoted that Pamela Sullivan was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer in 2019.

Since then, the singer has remained largely absent from Instagram. However, most recently, in October, she retuned to share a video of her mother and father, Dom.
