Roommates, we are sending our prayers up to the families of two Parkland school shooting survivors that recently passed away.
According to USA Today, on Saturday a student who attended Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was found deceased after an apparent suicide. The student’s name was not released, but Coral Springs Officer Tyler Reik told the site, “Officers responded to a call Saturday and determined the death was from an apparent suicide. The investigation is ongoing.”
This makes the second passing of a student who survived the tragic shooting back in 2018.
Recently it was reported that school alum Sydney Aiello, 19, passed from an apparent suicide on March 17th. She was friends with Meadow Pollack, one of the 17 victims that passed away from the shooting.
Sydney’s mother, Cara Aiello, said that her daughter was at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School the day of the shooting, but was not inside the building massacre occurred. She says that Syndey dealt with survivor’s guilt and was diagnosed with PTSD.
She had a hard time in college because she was afraid of sitting in classrooms.
David Hogg, a Parkland survivor, and a former student said:
How many more kids have to be taken from us as a result of suicide for the government / school district to do anything?
Rip 17+2 ????????
