Prince Harry Reportedly Flying Back To The U.K. To Attend Grandfather Prince Philip’s Funeral—Pregnant Meghan Markle Will Not

#Roommates, just hours after the news broke that Prince Philip of the Royal Family passed away at the age of 99, new details have emerged regarding his memorial service—specifically the attendance of grandson Prince Harry. According to recent reports, Prince Harry is set to travel back to the United Kingdom to attend Prince Philip’s funeral…however it will be without wife Meghan Markle.

@TodayShow reports, following the news the Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth and grandfather to brothers Prince William and Prince Harry, passed away at 99 years old, many were immediately wondering if his grandson Harry would attend. That question has now been answered, as it was recently confirmed that Prince Harry will be in attendance to pay his final respects to his grandfather—despite recent tension within the Royal Family.

Prince Harry is reportedly expected to follow all COVID-19 protocols required for travel as he ventures back to the U.K. from the U.S. His wife Meghan Markle, will not be attending the funeral because she did not receive the clearance from her doctor to travel given her current pregnancy. Prince Harry and Prince Philip were reportedly known to have a very close relationship, even after he and Meghan moved to California, as the two would keep in touch via video chats.

According to a press release from Buckingham Palace, Prince Philip’s memorial service is set for April 17th at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and will be preceded by a ceremonial procession on the castle grounds. His coffin is currently resting in the Private Chapel, where it will remain until his memorial service.

The Royal Family also entered into a two-week royal mourning, per the request of Queen Elizabeth.
