In a candid chat on Evelyn Lozada and Shaniece Hairstons ‘Drop the Lo’ podcast, dropped on Friday, July 18, the One Wish singer got vulnerable, admitting he feels like an embarrassment to his family. Despite the distance, though, their kids are keeping the love alive. Find out how below
When Evelyn pressed Ray J about his current status with Brandy, he didnt hold back. I love my sister, but Im an embarrassment to them, he said in a heartfelt moment. Shaniece jumped in, asking if he felt unaccepted by his loved ones, and Ray doubled down, saying, I never wanted to be accepted, I just feel like Im an embarrassment.
Rays been in the headlines for some wild moments lately, and it seems like those antics have put a strain on his bond with Brandy. But even with the tension, their kids are the glue holding things together. Ray shared that his son, Epik, is exceptionally close to his aunt. Meanwhile, Brandys daughter, Sy’Rai, often spends time with his children, indicating the strained relationship hasnt affected their children. My kids were over at Brandys house two days ago, he revealed. I see her, Im like, Wassup, but we havent talked.
Rewind to April, when Ray J had the internet in stitches after begging streamer Kai Cenat for a spot in his next livestream sleepover. Roomies, you may recall Kai holding a month-long stream titled Mafiathon 2 in November, where celebs like Kevin Hart, SZA, and Glorilla pulled up. Apparently, Ray was mad he didnt get an invite and called Kai to get answers. The clip went viral, but Brandy wasnt here for it.
He ended up sharing a screenshot of her text on his IG Stories, where she wrote, Come on, Ray? Whats going on with you? Youre so much better than this!! Ray responded on his IG Stories, writing, My sister hates who I am! And all Im doing is being myself! He added that hes been struggling since his split from Princess Love and lacks stability. He even apologized to Brandy and their mom for who I am.
Ray J has been going viral a few times these past few months. However, things took a new turn on June 7, during a Twitch livestream. The singer boldly claimed he slept with Sexyy Red, telling viewers, You can clip that all you want I slept with her. Whew, the internet lost it!
Sexyy Red wasnt having it, sliding into his DMs with, So dis what you doin playing wit people name on da internet? She further shut the claim down, writing, I said hi and kept it pushin is you coo cuh?! Justin Bieber, whos frequently been spotted hanging out with Sexyy lately, backed her up on June 8, posting, This rubs me real wrong. Sorry @Sexyyred U the GOAT. Ray J later backpedaled on his Reality Check News show, admitting, I went out of control We both were tired, so we went to sleep, clarifying they just napped on a plane.
