Ray J Responds To Critics About His Brandy Tattoo—Says She Didn’t Like The Tattoo Either

Earlier this month, Ray J shared that he had gotten a tattoo of his sister and best friend Brandy placed on his leg. After the big reveal of the tattoo, he received some mixed reviews as the artwork featured a special twist.

TMZ caught up with Ray J and asked him about those who criticized him for the tattoo, and he said,

“It’s my leg, it’s my sister. She was a little uneasy about it, but if you check out Mashkow’s page, he’s one of the dopest tattoo [artists] and it’s hard to get him to tatt you, it’s like booked for two years.”

The tattoo shows Brandy with graffiti words over her face, and red eyes, but Ray J explained that it’s just the style of Mashkow’s work.

“But I love my sister, that was just a symbol of me saying thank you for putting me in. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be here. I’m humbled just to have her just help me,” he said. “I love my sister, she didn’t like the tattoo either,” he added before walking off.

As previously shared, one of the most distinctive things about the tattoo is that Brandy has the words “Best Friend” across her forehead.

Not only has Ray J said that his sister is his best friend numerous times, but that is also the title of one of Brandy’s hit records from her 1994 self-titled album.

Back in 2019, Ray J performed the song for his sister as she was honored at the BMI R&B and Hip-Hop Awards.
