Roomies,  Mya has a bop that we all love!

Grammy Award winning singer, Mya, hopped on Instagram live, courtesy of TV One, and took us down memory lane with some of her hits, including “It’s All About Me” and “Take Me There” from the “Rugrats” movie soundtrack. As she gave us a dose of nostalgia, it’s quite obvious the 40-year-old ages gracefully.

With a black turtleneck and a sleek ponytail, the D.C. native reminded us why her music is timeless and she has a catalogue that is the soundtrack to many of our lives.

First gracing the airwaves in 1998 with her debut album self-titled, “Mya,” which gave us “It’s All About Me” that peaked at #5 on the Billboard charts and “Movin’ On” that also charted at #3 on the charts.

In an interview with Vegan Life, the singer discussed falling in love with herself and going vegan, which ultimately sparked a new business venture for her, “Planet 9 Fine Wine With Mya.”

“At the beginning of my independent recording artist journey eight years ago, I made the commitment to become my own disciplinarian and start my journey of self-conditioning, strength and trust,” she stated.  “Every new year I’d set a new challenge that I had to complete to prove myself to me.   Most of my friends thought I was insane,” Mya added.

“From pescetarianism, to celibacy, no alcohol, vegetarianism, 10 day fastings every quarter, to running a marathon, to combining 3 challenges at once,” she continued.  “After a very toxic relationship, I decided I needed to go further, go harder by stepping into new territory to get the me that I’d lost back and be an even better me, which is what brought me to veganism.  It literally changed my life in every positive way.”

Mya was recently in the news, after posting pics that appeared to be marrying herself for a new video, “The Truth.”
